Window Shelf / Cat Perch Kit

A non-damaging installation for most windows with narrow or non-existing windowsills Our custom-made window shelf is perfect for those windows with narrow sills. Fitting windows up to 36 inches wide, our shelf gives you a place to put your plants, or able to let Kitty sit and observe the outside world. The shelf installs in minutes, is non-damaging (great for apartments!) and can be moved to other similar sized windows.
• Requires no screws, nails, glue etc., to attach to your window frame • Secure enough that it easily holds the weight of flower pots, knick- knacks, etc., when properly installed • Uses two specially designed non-invasive compression fixtures to hold the shelf securely in place while inflicting no damage to your existing window frame. NEW: You can buy these brackets alone at the bottom of this page and make your own Window Shelf. • Can be easily removed without damaging frame--great for apartments! • Can be moved to other similar sized window frame--ideal for sunning plants! • Makes a great cat perch too!
The window shelf is pre-drilled for the mounting fixtures and the corners are pre-rounded and sanded; ready for you to finish them with either paint, or stain with urethane. Any size shelf up to 36 ¼” long  for $44.95 delivered to any where in the Continental USA. We will quote larger sizes upon request. Please send us your accurate measurement of the space where the shelf is to be installed. The shelf is UNFINISHED wood (Unfinished means non painted, stained or urethaned wood). Each shelf is hand made by Americans here in the USA. No old- growth lumber is used. We use standard 1” x 6” (actual dimensions is ¾" thick and 5 ½" wide) pine lumber.
IMPORTANT!! YOUR WINDOW MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 1½ INCH FRAME FOR SHELF TO REST ON, OR IT WILL NOT PROPERLY INSTALL!
Before purchasing, you must send us your accurate measurement of the space where the shelf is to be installed. --Measure the length of the sill as accurately as you can. We will allow 1/8” overall clearance on the measurement you provide. IMPORTANT! We cannot correct your measuring errors once the cut is made, so please be accurate with your measurement.

Here are some pictures of the Window Shelf in use. As you can see it can hold a number of medium sized plants, as well as cats--one being a 15lb Tom Cat. He’s probably as heavy as you’d want to have on the shelf. We also stained the shelf to match our window frames and you can do the same for yours, as it comes to you unfinished. The pictures of the cats were actually taken in a different room than the plants, so you can see that the shelf can be used in more than one similar sized window.  If one of your windows catches the morning sunshine and another the afternoon sun, you can move the shelf so your plants get sunshine all day...of course it would be more convenient for you to get two shelves!

A regular flat type screw driver tightens the compression screws to the window frame.
